The Monster 795, Ducati enters a market that’s been waiting for an affordable Ducati. Ducati’s ’less-is-more’ philosophy behind all of its Monster line bikes underlines the Italian bikemaker’s never-ending pursuit of genuinely compact, high performance motorcycles. But what’s really impressive is that these new models have succeeded in being even more ’pared down’ than their predecessors.
Every single component on the new Ducati Monster 795 has been redesigned and redeveloped so it’s become far more imposing than what it already is.
The 795 gets to silly speeds in a manner that evokes wide grins rather than white knuckles, and that’s a good thing considering the beginner markets it’s aimed at. Handling is excellent, and this Monster devours corners with a light and flickable demeanour. The brakes, like the tyres, are willing partners in crime for the chassis to terrorise the twisties.
The Monster 795 is basically a hybrid variant that combines the chassis of the Monster 696 with the engine of the Monster 796. This means the 803cc engine of the Monster 796, which produces 87hp and 78Nm of torque, is packed into the body that has the double-sided aluminum rear swingarm, Pirelli Angel front and rear tires, and the 770mm seat high of the Monster 696.
